I Took A Blood Test For Hcg Level And It Said >5.0 . What Does That Mean?

I took an blood test for pregnancy and it said >5.0 what does that mean?

Answer:
HCG or human chorionic gonadotropin is a hormone which is produced by the chorion of the zygote after fertilization. This hormone is used for the development of placenta. Detection of this hormone contained by urine or blood is test of pregnancy. In blood beta HCG levels are measured. Its levels smaller number than 5 means no pregnancy. A level between 5 to 25 means may or may not pregnant, repeat tryout after 2 days. HCG levels more than 25 means pregnancy. But there are few more conditions which increase HCG level in blood. These are ovarian cancer, Hydatidiform mole of the uterus and Choriocarcinoma of the uterus.
Less than 5 means you are not pregnant.  Sorry!  :(
